The Astrovan is an all-around predator pattern built to knock out everything from bruiser browns to full-blown musky. Inspired by James Dooley’s “High Mileage” streamer, this version is scaled up and tricked out for serious abuse.Riding on a Gamakatsu B10S #1 Stinger in the back and a 2/0 up front, the two sections are linked by a stainless-steel shank for a durable, articulated chassis. The body starts with saddle feathers, marabou brush tail, transitions into a synthetic brush shoulder and head, and gets finished with a dose of NMF Titan Dubbing for that final attitude and profile.
Throw this rig on a stout 8-weight, but it truly shines in the 9–10 weight range where you can let the Astrovan hunt. Coming in at about 8-9 inches.
